11 Money-Saving Online Resources

As hard as it is for some us in the tech community to believe, there are still many people who don’t take advantage of the great money-saving opportunities on the web. As a computer consultant and person who grew up during the “Internet Age”, I do much of my shopping online. Whether I’m placing a software or hardware order for a client, or purchasing books, clothing and gadgets for myself, I’m always on the lookout for the best possible deal. Nine times out of ten, the best deals can be found right here on the internet.
In this blog post you’ll learn about some great websites you can visit to find deals on practically anything: electronics, airfare, lodging, apparel, and even local gas prices. You’ll discover websites that perform on-the-fly comparison shopping to ensure you’re getting the best quality and value. I’ll also show you where to search for coupon codes that can be applied to your shopping cart for instant online savings, as well as take you beyond the realm of online ordering and help you find downloadable coupons that can be used at your local supermarket.
In these times of economic hardship a little goes a long way. As billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban said:
If you can, you will quickly find that the greatest rate of return you will earn is on your own personal spending. Being a smart shopper is the first step to getting rich
Let’s all take his advice and start amassing our own personal wealth by shopping intelligently.
Note: Though this article is based on saving money by shopping online, I urge anyone reading this to shop at locally owned and operated businesses whenever possible. This is meant more as an alternative to driving to the nearby Best Buy, Wal Mart, Costco, etc… then to the advocacy of big online sales companies.
